SOE SIGNATURE of EXCELLENCE
MS Ryndam
In a move to strengthen its position as the premium cruise leader, Holland America Line launched, in
2003, a 225 million $ refit program for the eight S-and R class vessels being the; # MS Statendam # MS Maasdam # MS Ryndam
# MS Veendam # MS Rotterdam # MS Volendam # MS Zaandam and # MS Amsterdam.
This project was called "Signature of excellence".
In line with this comprehensive upgrade initiative VFD was responsible for the design of the Explorations café, Culinary arts theatre and Health spa.
During construction VFD also provided site supervision as well as restoration and relocation of all artworks affected by the areas under construction.
Many of the "Signature of excellence" enhancements were incorporated in the first and third ship of the "Vista class" , the MS Westerdam and the MS Zuiderdam.
